It is basically a server (a computer system or may be an application)
that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients (requesting systems)
seeking resources from other servers (request fulfilling systems).
It (proxy server) evaluates the request according to its filtering rules
(it may filter traffic by IP-addresses also)
